The second installment of the Syna Pusyu animation series, “Tsukutsuku Tsukumochan,” is themed around New Year’s. Tsukumochan is a character inspired by the “tsukumogami,” spirits said to dwell in objects that have been cherished and used with care. It portrays the Japanese sensibility of sensing life in familiar things, using gentle expressions that can be understood by babies and children alike.

This work won the New Hope Award in the Kabukicho Creator's Gallery Project competition. It is a video created around the commercial complex “Tokyu Kabukicho Tower,” which opened in Shinjuku Kabukicho in April 2023. Since the building’s floors are divided by genre—B1-B4F / 1-5F / 6-8F / 9-10F / 18-47F— the color scheme changes on each floor to express that it is a facility where a wide variety of entertainment comes together. At the 24-second mark, the line “This is a place where you can fully pursue what you love” becomes simply “love” and grows larger; this is achieved by bringing the “YOU” and “ENTERTAINMENT” markers on the lower scale closer together, expressing that this is a facility where the distance between users and entertainment becomes closer. Following the award, it will be shown on the outdoor vision screen on the first floor of Tokyu Kabukicho Tower from April 5, 2023.
