The first star of the latest opening video is three-division world champion Junto Nakatani, whose official collaboration merchandise with WOWOW Excite Match was also designed by Kida!

The visual direction is by Natsuki Kida, a filmmaker known for dark fantasy. She depicts a mysterious night through a nostalgic video created with meticulous attention to artistic elements such as characters and background art. In bringing to life the enchanting and beautiful world woven by the song and Aimer’s vocals, I wanted to set the story in a “black forest” illuminated only by moonlight and the shimmer of stars, and portray the events of a mysterious night. A girl who descends from a castle in the sky to the forest below falls asleep. The figure of the girl dancing on in the forest also seems like another version of herself. Is this reality, or a dream the girl is seeing...? Only a polka-dotted beast wandering through the forest watched over the events of that one night. I researched every kind of dance form, including ballet and contemporary dance, and paid particular attention to the girl’s movements in order to create a mysterious presence. I hope that after watching the video, viewers will be left with a strange feeling, as if they have traveled beyond time and space. (Director: Natsuki Kida)

Kouhei Nakama (WOW) once again collaborated with director Hibiki Yoshizaki of Studio Khara to produce the opening sequence for Season 2 of the anime Kaiju No. 8, following their work on the first season. The sequence visually expresses the inner turmoil and emotional conflict of Kafka Hibino / Kaiju No. 8, caught between his human and monster selves. Created from discussions with Studio Colorido director Kyo Yoshizaki, this video visualizes the question, “Where do kaiju come from, and what is their purpose?” Set to “Abyss” performed by YUNGBLUD, it abstractly depicts, in a single continuous shot, the process by which cells born in the deep sea grow and divide before emerging on land as a kaiju, while interweaving the characters’ emotions. Elements, kept as simple as possible. Behavior, made as natural as possible, something that never gets old. With “10¹² TERRA,” we explored the interplay of light and shadow created by the rotation of the outer and inner shades of a white, geometric form. The source of motion is nothing but convection caused by the heat of an incandescent bulb. Without using any motorized power, we pursued a natural, beautiful, gently flowing movement of light. “LUX” — What we set out to design was not a fixture called lighting, but “the behavior of light” itself. It softly shapes the space with drifting light and shadow. A beautiful, conceptual light, here.

This is a commemorative music video for the opening of the KochiKame Memorial Museum in Kameari. The director himself lived in Katsushika City for over 10 years. We filmed around the neighborhood, centering on Kameari, and designed the visuals and motion with the intention of making Ryo-san and the others feel as if they truly existed there. The police box was fully modeled in 3DCG from scratch, starting from zero.

Working since the 1980s, ∈Y∋'s output has influenced and shaped experimental music in his native Japan and across the globe. From noise and psychedelia to performance art and visual art, ∈Y∋'s career is a collage of creative mischief and devilish collaborations. He has performed with the iconic Sonic Youth, on John Zorn’s Naked City (1990), and with the influential South Korean artist Nam June Paik, among many others. Expect a face-melting and mind-warping audiovisual battery as the mutant cyberkinetic noise of ∈Y∋ is combined with the rampant visuals of C.O.L.O from Osaka’s Cosmic Lab to birth an immersive audiovisual performance. Signage content installed at MUFG Bank’s new concept store, “M’s Square TAKANAWA.” We joined the project from the planning stage and were responsible for direction. Rather than taking a conventional advertising approach, the piece was created around the concept of a visual experience that would make passersby stop and take notice. Using a transparent display device, we designed the content as a generative visual expression in which the imagery changes in real time according to live foreign exchange data, allowing financial information to be perceived in a visual and intuitive way.

A music video work created for the AI creative contest “Corotech supported by LIVE DAM WAO!” hosted by the Nippon Columbia Group (NCG) on February 21–22, 2026. Starting from my own sense of motion graphics, all motifs were individually generated by AI as video assets for chroma key use, then constructed through compositing and synthesis. Rather than generating everything at once, the video was structurally designed through a process of generating, selecting, placing, and animating each element as separate assets. Within the context of an AI contest, I deliberately chose a time-consuming production method in an effort to imbue the video with “brushstrokes” and “life” that cannot be achieved through one-shot generation. Rather than relying on AI’s generative power alone, this work explores the possibilities of expression through collaboration between AI and humans by selecting, composing, and assigning relationships to the materials through human intent. Instead of presenting AI’s inorganic output as is, it aims to create an emotionally resonant visual expression by reconstructing it through human intervention.

A music video created entirely in full CG. Built around the guitar as its central motif, the visual world was constructed from its form and presence. Assuming the piece to be instrumental, the visuals were designed not around the meaning of lyrics, but around the structure, texture, and energy of the sound itself. The dynamics, rhythm, and spatial breadth of the music are visualized through the deformation of forms, light, and motion. Through motion graphics design in Cinema 4D and Redshift, along with highly precise lighting and rendering, we created a full-CG expression in which sound and image are directly connected.

Based on the images inspired by the music, original hand-drawn illustrations were created for each scene and used to construct the music video. The movement within the video was built from those original drawings, incorporating AI technology while preserving the texture and nuances of the hand-drawn work as it was developed into moving images. In addition, these original drawings were compiled into a ZINE as part of the artist’s own body of work and exhibited at “Here is ZINE Tokyo #22,” held in Aoyama, Tokyo, in February 2026. Rather than stopping at completion as a video work, the project expands its world by translating the original drawings born during the production process into an analog medium, crossing the boundary between moving image and printed matter. Starting from the traces of hand drawing, this project developed into a distinctive artwork that moves back and forth between analog and digital through a process that unfolds from still images into time-based expression. This is an original video work created inspired by Roniit’s song “Purify.” Using CG, I expressed the themes of “life that is born and then fades away” and “a world that is magnificent and beautiful, yet somehow tinged with fragility and irrationality.” A single star is born in a sterile space. The life that emerges from it encounters other forms of life, collides with them, undergoes chemical reactions, and eventually disappears— this entire process is depicted abstractly from the perspective of an unemotional third party. While centering on my strengths in 3DCG and VFX, I also experimentally incorporated AI technology at certain points, blending them together in a subtle way. I made this video with pure feelings as a fan of Roniit, and I was truly delighted to receive a message from Roniit through social media, and even more so to have it shared by them. It has become a very precious work to me.
