An exploration of the tactile textures of the natural world by Onesal What is ASMR? The Japanese art studio Onesal has launched a series of four short films that offer a fresh, visual approach to expressing ASMR. It is called Visual ASMR, or Visual Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. ASMR is a subjective, euphoric experience characterized by a combination of imaginative emotions and electric-like tingling sensations. Covered in organic elements of vivid colors, natural sculptures set in landscapes that are at once strange and earth-like evolve and grow at a microscopic level in each film. Everything takes place across four otherworldly landscapes, categorized to closely examine interaction, movement, and evolution with surrounding elements. Each shot is composed using elements of nature, architecture, and time-lapse. The work examines textures and tactile elements that morph and interact in unreal environments. This endeavor began by balancing nature and design, and by blurring the boundary between simplicity and complexity in an abstract way.

We created storytelling visuals about the impact and contributions that research from the University of Adelaide brings to the world, as well as animations that connect the key areas of research成果.

Deloitte, the world’s largest consulting company, launched the global “Make Your Impact” campaign through Deloitte Digital. onesal was responsible for the design and animation of the campaign’s brand film, and our project played a role in showing, in an optimistic and compelling way, how today’s decisions can shape tomorrow’s actions, nurturing new technologies and demonstrating their impact to the world. Beginning with a green dot, a symbol of nature, we explored the dot from various perspectives, transforming it into abstract forms. As it changes shape, expands, and gives rise to new things, everything returns to the green dot.

Onesal created a series of animated loop works based on the concept of “flowers of the future,” which were presented at the Hanami 2050 Exhibition by flower artist Nicolai Bergmann. This exhibition was held from March 29 to April 1, 2018, at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine in Fukuoka Prefecture.
