Directed and produced the music video for virtual singer “Yunagi Ushio” (@yng_ushio). With “soft aggression” as the central theme, we pursued choreography that expresses immature negative emotions. By linking shots that remain open to multiple interpretations, we aimed to create imagery in which the predicative elements of each shot—verbs and adjectives associated with the motifs—come to the fore, without relying on the reading of symbolic motifs.

Description: Flesh lies low, enfolded in skin. A desire now stirs within the internet: to cut through the skin of others’ lies and deceptions, and to glimpse the flesh within. Virtual slaughter, where our flesh has nowhere to go, and the ambivalence of caro vale. *** A graduation work from the 2023 Image Forum Institute of Moving Image production program. By adopting vivid, bodily performances and live-action-like angles with many static shots, this work maintains a visual distance from commercial CG productions, while using motion capture to allow the creator to perform the act of slaughter in virtual space himself.
