Takeru Taniguchi
Born in 1991 in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.
After moving to Tokyo, he taught himself filmmaking and went on to direct a range of horror documentary series, including Yami Tabi and Unknown.
He founded his own production team, Sharaku Town, and continues to work across a wide range of genres, including the distinctive horror style “spiritual phenomena × cult × outlaw,” as well as music videos and documentaries.
Selected as one of Japan’s 100 Filmmakers in 2019, he has recently directed the horror drama The Record of Shingakki, starring Atarashii Gakko! The Leaders, as well as Shinrei Master Tape -EYE-, streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
