Explanation: Interbrand Japan held “Best Japan Brands 2022,” an online event announcing the Top 100 Japanese brands using its proprietary brand valuation methodology. We produced the ranking movie used during the event. Using footage created globally, the film expresses how brands in Japan have evolved from the past toward the future.

Under the theme “Hard a starboard!”, the process of planning and designing with a flat, two-dimensional mindset is represented in 2D, while the part where that is actually brought to life as output is depicted in 3D. By looping playback, the work also expresses the idea of continually repeating and refining those processes.

I created a video to accompany my New Year’s greetings. By featuring the zodiac animals of the past two years and contrasting them with their speed, I expressed the idea that in fiscal year 2022, we will race ahead with even greater momentum and speed than ever before, boldly charging forward.

SONICJAM.Studio was responsible for producing the concept movie for “GOOD DESIGN SHOW 2021,” which discusses the more than 1,600 Good Design selections chosen for the 2021 fiscal year, as well as the signage video for Shibuya Station Big Signage Premium and Umeda Metro Vision. In the concept movie, we expressed the celebratory feeling of the Good Design Award and the different ways of thinking and perspectives brought about by design through bubble-like motion graphics, building a story around the lively image of many diverse participants interacting with one another. For the signage video, we created motion that always kept the visuals moving to catch the attention of passersby, and designed it to be seamless so that the “Good Design Award” could be promoted from any scene. In the teaser video displayed from October 18, 2021, lively typography and scene transitions heightened anticipation for the announcement of this year’s award-winning works, and in the main video, which switched over in time for the Good Design Award announcement on October 20, we clearly and neatly showcased more than 1,600 award-winning works while using typography motion at key moments to draw the attention of people passing by.
