I was in charge of the opening movie for a special edition of NHK’s news program “Close-Up Gendai.”

Animated for the reading event “A’LOUNGE TBS Announcers’ Reading Session: Collaboration with Young Creators,” held as an online event at J:COM Urayasu Concert Hall on December 13, 2020. Broadcast on CS channel “TBS Channel 2: Classic Dramas, Sports, and Anime.” *This is a trailer for the animated segments.

This animation expresses the story of the song’s theme of “loss and rebirth.” A man who has lost everything touches a certain painting, and in that instant, it is as if a “memory-recovery device” has been activated: lost memories overflow back to him, and he once again confronts the past. The video portrays a journey toward renewal, in which frozen time begins to move again.

KOO-KI’s Toichi Shirakawa directed and produced this commercial for UHA Gummy Supplement. The music is an arranged recording of Kocchi no Kento’s hit song “Hai Yorokonde,” created specifically for this commercial. The illustrations are newly drawn by Oshushi Muromuki. To achieve a subliminal effect, the production was designed so that the product package appears in every cut. To present it without being intrusive, the team added touches such as well-timed coordination with the music, a pleasing sense of progression, and small playful elements (the gummy pieces) to keep it engaging and prevent it from becoming dull.
