I had the privilege of directing a promotional video for the EV race car “E-RA,” developed by Subaru Tecnica International. Given the nature of the world premiere, the full vehicle would be revealed at the unveiling event, so I turned the fact that only part of the car could be shown to our advantage, using long, powerful beams of light in the shoot to evoke a sense of advanced technology and combativeness.

.ENDRECHERI. Tsuyoshi Domoto’s heartfelt rearrangement of “Machi,” the singer-songwriter debut song he released in 2002, revisited 22 years later in 2024. Starting from Nara, Tsuyoshi’s hometown, the piece depicts each scene with the image of moving eastward through Osaka, Aichi, and Tokyo. It was mainly produced as 2D cutout animation with digital drawing, and the two opening shots of the character’s movement were created using rotoscoping.

An audio visual installation using multiple projectors and transparent screens. It is an art installation where the theme of "parallel time" is expressed in the ever-changing scenery inside the gallery, with the cycle of the images in loop and the interference of the projected screens constantly bringing different elements to the atmosphere. If time is a shared scale of measurement, every phenomenon occurring on that time axis (timeline) should exist simultaneously as overlapped layers that continue to occur on various scales even at this very moment. In this piece of work, finely-cropped, abstract images are projected all at the same time using multiple projectors, and are reflected with a certain depth on the transparent screens laid out three-dimensionally. The idea is that all states can exist concurrently as generation and disappearance repeat themselves. This work was exhibited at an underground art space at Hilton Tokyo for "Shinjuku Creators Festa 2017". 複数のプロジェクターと、透過スクリーンを使用したオーディオビジュアルインスタレーション作品。 ループされる映像同士の周期と、映し出されるスクリーンの干渉で絶えず異なる局面を作り出し、ギャラリー空間に移りかわっていく一期一会の風景から”並行時間”をテーマにしたアートインスタレーションです。 ＜コンセプト＞ 時間がひとつの共有された尺度だとすれば、その時間軸(タイムライン)上に起こるあらゆる事象、現象は層を重ねるように同時に存在し、 いまこの瞬間も絶えず様々なスケールで発生し続けています。 この作品は細かくクロップされた抽象的な映像を複数のプロジェクターで同時に投影し、空間に立体的にレイアウトされた透過スクリーンに奥行きを持って映し出されます。 発生と消滅が繰り返され、あらゆる状態が同時に存在し得るということを表現しています。 本作品は「新宿クリエイターズ・フェスタ2017」において、「ヒルトン東京」地下のアートスペースに展示しました。

We aimed to create a visual style that blends mechanical animation, making full use of patterns, with traditional hand-drawn animation. Even without facial expressions, a person’s fashion can convey emotion and energy. Clothes chosen by a person of their own free will are not mere decorations; they become part of the body, and there is a sense in which the boundary between fashion and the person becomes increasingly blurred. Fashion, including clothing, accessories, cosmetic surgery, and makeup, seems to lose its boundary with the wearer’s body and mind the more they enjoy wearing it, until it feels like they become that person themselves. We tried to express these ideas through animation.
