[Documentary] Nagisa Shoji Birthday Festival 2025

2022-2026, 2025

This is a documentary film created with the theme of preserving the atmosphere of Ms. Nagisa Shoji’s birthday event as it was on the day, along with the intensity of the live performance. Rather than focusing only on the on-stage performance, it is composed with care to capture the “atmosphere unique to that day,” including expressions before and after the show as well as interactions with the members. We aimed to create a film that conveys the special day’s atmosphere and sense of warmth, something that cannot be fully expressed by a simple live digest.

This promotional video was created around the theme of supporting the “career changes” and “anxiety about taking on challenges” experienced by people working in the fashion industry. Through characters working from different positions, such as designers, sales staff, and merchandisers, it portrays feelings like “I want to grow more” and “I want to try something new.” Rather than being a simple service introduction video, it presents a story-driven depiction of their struggles and conflicts at work, as well as how they gradually become more positive through learning. It also centers on the copy, “In your future, there is a senior who has already moved a step ahead,” and the entire video was designed to convey an atmosphere in which people can move forward not by worrying alone, but through learning and connections with others. Beyond a purely advertising style, the video emphasizes the characters’ expressions, sense of distance, and the overall atmosphere, aiming to create a piece that allows viewers to overlay their own “future selves.”

This digest video was created with the theme of preserving the intensity of the live performance and the one-day-only atmosphere of that moment. Rather than serving as a simple record of the concert, it was designed to reconstruct “the live experience itself” as a video, including not only the brilliance on stage but also the emotions behind it and the flow of time. Amid the cheers, the lights, and the wintry atmosphere, it captures the moments when the emotions of the members and the audience overlap, expressing the exhilaration and transience that are unique to live performances. In addition to the performance itself, we also valued the glances, expressions, the atmosphere during stage transitions, and the energy throughout the venue, with the aim of preserving the unique sense of warmth that existed only at that time and place. Rather than existing solely as a “record,” the structure of the video is meant to evoke the memories of those who watched the live show and convey that intensity even to those who did not.

With hydrangeas as the motif, this Music Video was created around the theme of individual feelings coming together to become one larger presence. Hydrangeas are plants that bloom as a single flower made up of many small blossoms, and we expressed this by overlapping that image with the existence of a group and the bonds between its members. Though each person has different emotions and individuality, by supporting one another and sharing the same time together, they become one landscape, one atmosphere. Through the entire video, we portray the warmth that emerges only from such a group. Rather than relying on flashy direction, we placed importance on the atmosphere between the members— their glances, the distance between them, silences, and natural expressions— with the intention of capturing in film a relationship that exists only in this moment, right here and now.
