Born on an island in the Seto Inland Sea. Exchange student at the Rhode Island School of Design; graduated from Kyoto Seika University. Completed the Graduate School of Film and New Media at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2017. Served as a research and teaching assistant at the same graduate school for three years, and is currently an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Future Society Initiative, Nagoya University, and a part-time lecturer at Joshibi University of Art and Design.
“Bone Eater” (2021) won the Grand Prize in the Short Film Competition at the 45th Ottawa International Animation Festival, one of the world’s four major animation festivals. Recipient of the New Face Award in the Animation Division at the 25th Japan Media Arts Festival organized by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. Served as a selection committee member for the inaugural Hiroshima Animation Season.
