MBS’s Drama Shower, which has delivered a wide variety of BL dramas such as “April in Tokyo...,” “Koharu and Amagi-kun,” and “Eternal Yesterday,” is next taking on the mega-hit “JTAKAN YOHOU (A Forecast of Feelings),” which has surpassed 10 million cumulative downloads on Comic Cmoa and other platforms and won first place in the comic category of the “BL AWARD 2023” as well as the BL category of the “Electronic Comic Grand Prize 2023”! This highly provocative work, one of the most striking titles in Drama Shower history, will be led by main director Ayaka Kato, who previously helmed the smash-hit BL drama “Old Fashion Cupcake,” with rising young actors Kohei Higuchi and Atsuki Mashiko (GENIC) starring as a duo. “Since tomorrow will be clear, this man will probably sleep with me.” Mizuki Segasaki (Kohei Higuchi) is popular as a refreshing, handsome weather forecaster. But his true nature is that of an outrageous tyrant. He lives with Yo Tanada (Atsuki Mashiko), a struggling erotic manga artist, and has him do all the housework and more! This arrangement began with the promise that Mizuki would cover Yo’s food, clothing, and housing while he struggled to make it as a manga artist, but there’s a condition: Yo must “do everything Segasaki says”...!? Kohei Higuchi, who has been active across a wide range of roles as an actor, including starring in the Super Sentai series, plays Mizuki Segasaki, the refreshing handsome weather forecaster with a domineering personality who leaves all housework to his roommate Yo (Atsuki Mashiko). Higuchi came to Tokyo to pursue his dream of becoming a soccer player and became a J.League development player, but had to give it up due to an injury. After that, an opportunity from a talent agency led him into the entertainment industry, and he has expanded his career from modeling to acting. Atsuki Mashiko, a member of the seven-member mixed-gender dance & vocal group GENIC, plays Yo Tanada, the unsuccessful erotic manga artist who is completely at Segasaki’s mercy. Mashiko was selected as a finalist in avex’s “Boys Award Audition 2016” in 2016, and in 2020 he made his major debut with GENIC. He has also been active on stage and in dramas, attracting attention through many works and building a strong track record as an actor. And for this production, three talented creators have come together on the directing team! Ayaka Kato won acclaim with FOD’s “Old Fashion Cupcake” last year, and since then has directed one buzzworthy title after another, including MBS’s “You Want to Make Me Fall for You” (2023) and KTV’s “Zenra Meshi” (2023), earning high praise for her skill. Shinju Funabiki served as co-writer on the original drama MBS’s “Jack Frost” (2023), drawing attention from BL fans, and in this work she takes on both script and direction. Emi Yasumura has been highly regarded for her talent as a visual creator, having been selected for “100 Filmmakers 2020,” and has also been active as a director on NHK’s “Scary Picture Book” (2022) and BS Nippon TV’s “Babuchuu to Dari” (2022); this marks her first challenge directing a serialized drama.

A love comedy with a “bridge effect” between a trashy teacher and a negative JK! The smash-hit comic series currently running in Hakusensha’s “Hana to Yume,” with cumulative sales surpassing 3 million copies, will be adapted into a live-action drama, starring Ryo Hashimoto (HiHi Jets / Johnny’s Jr.) in his first solo lead role in a serial drama, and Akari Takaishi in her first terrestrial TV drama heroine role! “Falling JK and a Heinous Teacher,” which began serialization in Hakusensha’s “Hana to Yume” in August 2017, has been hugely popular with readers. Now it has been decided that it will air on MBS’s Drama Tokku block starting Thursday, April 6 (MBS: every Thursday at 12:59 a.m.; TVK: every Thursday at 11:00 p.m., and more), with Ryo Hashimoto (HiHi Jets / Johnny’s Jr.) as the lead and Akari Takaishi as the heroine! The original manga is the hit comic series, currently up to volume 15. With manga artist sora’s low-energy, surreal dialogue, its uniquely unmotivated characterizations, and the frustrating romance between two people who never cross the line because of their teacher-student relationship, it has struck a chord with many readers and become a runaway hit with over 3 million copies sold. The star of this work is Ryo Hashimoto (HiHi Jets / Johnny’s Jr.), who enjoys overwhelming popularity thanks to his striking looks and diverse talents, and who takes on his first solo lead role in a serial drama. He plays Jin Haiba, a physics teacher who is the textbook definition of a “hopeless adult”—unmotivated, addicted to gambling, constantly broke, and repeatedly engaging in reckless behavior unfit for a teacher. Nicknamed “Hai-jin” by his students, he is looked down on by them. The heroine is Akari Takaishi, a rising young actress attracting intense attention, making her debut as a serial drama heroine in this work. She plays Mikoto Ochiai, a high school girl who is academically excellent but deeply negative. “Wouldn’t you like to fall in love with me before you die?” — the trashy teacher Mikoto Ochiai (played by Akari Takaishi), who was about to take her own life over heartbreak, is interrupted by physics teacher Jin Haiba (played by Ryo Hashimoto). When he confesses to her, saying, “Wouldn’t you like to fall in love with me before you die?” Mikoto is thrown into confusion. Is it a lie to save her, or is it…? As she gradually finds herself drawn to the trashy teacher Jin, whom even the students look down on…!? Trashy teacher x negative JK: a low-energy romantic comedy destined for a fall! The directors are Munenari Moon for the drama “Anno Lyric” and the film “5 Billion-Yen Life,” and Meigetsu Takahashi for the films “Sayonara, Good Evening” and “How to Tell the Difference Between a Proper Bus.” The scripts are by Ayumi Shita of the dramas “My Beauty Transformation Won’t Stop!?” and “House Marriage Honey,” and Shota Gaijin of the dramas “Oshare-domo! The Fashion Sommelier” and “My Imaginative Meal I Want to Be Praised For.” This up-and-coming cast and staff take on the ultimate bridge-effect romantic comedy wrapped in surreal laughter.
