A music video work created for the AI creative contest “Corotech supported by LIVE DAM WAO!” hosted by the Nippon Columbia Group (NCG) on February 21–22, 2026. Starting from my own sense of motion graphics, all motifs were individually generated by AI as video assets for chroma key use, then constructed through compositing and synthesis. Rather than generating everything at once, the video was structurally designed through a process of generating, selecting, placing, and animating each element as separate assets. Within the context of an AI contest, I deliberately chose a time-consuming production method in an effort to imbue the video with “brushstrokes” and “life” that cannot be achieved through one-shot generation. Rather than relying on AI’s generative power alone, this work explores the possibilities of expression through collaboration between AI and humans by selecting, composing, and assigning relationships to the materials through human intent. Instead of presenting AI’s inorganic output as is, it aims to create an emotionally resonant visual expression by reconstructing it through human intervention.

Based on the images inspired by the music, original hand-drawn illustrations were created for each scene and used to construct the music video. The movement within the video was built from those original drawings, incorporating AI technology while preserving the texture and nuances of the hand-drawn work as it was developed into moving images. In addition, these original drawings were compiled into a ZINE as part of the artist’s own body of work and exhibited at “Here is ZINE Tokyo #22,” held in Aoyama, Tokyo, in February 2026. Rather than stopping at completion as a video work, the project expands its world by translating the original drawings born during the production process into an analog medium, crossing the boundary between moving image and printed matter. Starting from the traces of hand drawing, this project developed into a distinctive artwork that moves back and forth between analog and digital through a process that unfolds from still images into time-based expression.
