monols:The Moon

Music Video for Live Performance by “monols,” a soundscape artist weaving together multiple electric guitars. Designed to evoke a trance-like experience. The relationship between humans and the moon has long been one of closeness and distance. It is Earth’s only natural satellite, and the only extraterrestrial body humanity has ever reached. Since ancient times, it has been an object of worship, a home to rabbits, and more. It has also served as a tool for measuring calendars, and during the Apollo program, it represented the future and hope for humankind. The concept is a night sky where the moon dances. In sync with the rhythm, the moon pulses like a heartbeat, transforming like a disco ball on the dance floor. Stare at it long enough, and the moon begins to look like a hole, eventually driving you into a state of delirium. A moon and humans dancing madly. Created entirely in full CG, the track’s waveform was extracted and morphed using deformers and effects. Best enjoyed on a moon-viewing night in a pitch-black space, with ear-shattering volume and a drink in hand.
