We developed “ROBOT VIEWING,” a system that allows people who find it difficult to visit events in person due to distance, time, disabilities, chronic conditions, or infection prevention measures to freely participate in events by remotely operating on-site robots from home online. With “ROBOT VIEWING,” multiple people, such as family members or acquaintances (currently up to five), can log in together, enjoy the event by operating a robot at the venue while video chatting, and communicate with people on-site through the robot’s speaker. The system also includes an online reservation and scheduling function, making it possible to flexibly schedule robot operation according to the event timetable and the number of units deployed. Going forward, we plan to add updates such as integration with a payment system and a function for projecting video on-site, and will develop this into a service that can be used not only for art exhibitions but also for product launch events and various indoor exhibition events.
