The boxfish lacks confidence and always spends its time alone among the rocks, envying the other fish. Then one day, it meets a pygmy seahorse said to have come from the sea of Minamata, and sets out on its first adventure to help bring the pygmy seahorse back to the sea of Minamata. Based on Sakana-kun’s picture book The Boxfish’s Wish, this short animation portrays the diversity of living creatures, environmental issues, and the affirmation of one’s own individuality.
