- Born in Aichi Prefecture and based in Tokyo, she discovered the joy of animation through a childhood love of drawing and playing with a video camera. Drawing inspiration from her everyday experiences, she creates works using a wide range of art materials and media. Her latest film, Big Garden in Mini Mini Pocket, inspired by her personal illustrated diary, premiered at the 75th Locarno Film Festival and has since received numerous awards at film festivals in Japan and abroad, including the 40th Sundance Film Festival and the TDC 2023 Grand Prix.
