- Spatial Experience Artist. Originating from animation, Hashimoto Daisuke creates immersive spatial experiences across a wide range of fields, including projection mapping, immersive theater, stage performances, dolphin shows, and cultural heritage exhibitions. Under the theme of “transforming space itself into a narrative,” he approaches visual expression not as imagery confined to a screen, but as a total experience integrating architecture, human movement, sound, light, and time. His distinctive style merges contemporary technology with primitive sensibilities rooted in Japanese culture and spirituality, including animism, nature worship, and the concept of Yaoyorozu-no-Kami — the countless spirits believed to inhabit all things. Major works include “LIGHTIA” at Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government projection mapping work “Tokyo Hengenki,” large-scale spatial installations for the Edo-Tokyo Museum, and the Digital Cultural Heritage Museum “KOISHIKAWA XROSS®.” He received the Excellence Award at the Japan Media Arts Festival, and his animated adaptation of Kawanabe Kyosai’s artwork was exhibited at the British Museum. In recent years, his work has centered around the philosophy that “all existence is composed of particles of light,” creating immersive works in Japan and abroad that explore themes of time, memory, prayer, and the cyclical nature of life.
