This 15-second piece was created for “JAA Omnibus: Infinite ∞ 15-Second Animation,” a segment of “Into Animation 8,” an event hosted by the Japan Animation Association (JAA), which Shota belongs to. Interpreting the theme “infinite ∞” in my own way, I handled everything myself, from coming up with the idea to creating the animation and composing the music, and completed it in less than one week in total. I worked on the rough sketches in CLIP STUDIO PAINT (iPad version) to check the motion. After that, I scanned drawings made on paper and finished the video using After Effects and Photoshop. The music was created by humming the idea into a melody and building on it with GarageBand. The vocals were also recorded from my own singing.

I participated in and created this work for the logo movie project “Hulu IDs” for the U.S. version of the streaming service Hulu. I aimed to create an animation style that was energetic and exciting above all else. The music was made together with a friend I have worked with since my student days. As for the singing, I wanted to create a Japanese song that people overseas could enjoy too, so I chose Japanese words whose pronunciation I found appealing, regardless of their meaning, and arranged them to fit the melody. This is the music video for Mix Nuts House’s song “GOLD TIGER.” I interviewed the artist about the intentions behind the song’s creation, then reinterpreted it in my own way and turned it into a visual work. CLIP STUDIO PAINT (iPad version) Analog art supplies
