THE SIXTH LIE – Everything Lost

As the activities of the band “THE SIXTH LIE,” in which director Wakui performs as the drummer, became difficult amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he began exploring what he could do at that moment and started learning 3DCG and VFX in Blender. Through repeated trial and error, he spent a year and a half creating this music video entirely on his own.
The people were shot on a green screen, and everything else was created in 3DCG. Set in a desolate world where everyone has disappeared, this work—which uses only simple green screen filming to realize scenes such as a performance on the rooftop of a collapsing building and members falling into the abyss—drew major attention in the 3DCG and VFX community, winning an Excellence Award at the VFX JAPAN AWARD 2022.
