The hugely popular Korean drama “Suspicious Partner” is getting a Japanese remake, starring Yusei Yagi (FANTASTICS) and Kyoko Saito in a dual lead role!
A thrilling and heart-racing “suspense x romantic comedy” that begins with the worst possible encounter

The Korean drama “Suspicious Partner” is a romantic comedy starring Ji Chang-wook that aired in 2017 on SBS in Korea.
When it was distributed and broadcast in Japan as well, it won support from a wide range of viewers, especially Korean drama fans.

A cool-headed prosecutor’s life is turned upside down when he meets a free-spirited woman who mistakes him for a sexual harasser!? Ever since meeting her, nothing but bad things keep happening, and he tries to cut ties with her somehow, but for some reason, he just can’t push her away... Is this a “bad fate,” or is it “destiny”?
Centered on a romantic comedy depicting the pure love story of the two, this is a new kind of thrilling “suspense x romantic comedy” in which mystery elements also intertwine around a certain incident.

The role of Haruto Tateishi, a sharp-witted prosecutor called “the worst prosecutor ever” by a lawyer, will be played by Yusei Yagi, who has been active as a vocalist in the dance and vocal group FANTASTICS and has drawn attention for the “My Beautiful Man” series, and has since continued to build an impressive acting career with numerous drama and film appearances including “I Became a Host, So I’m the Heir,” “Konkatsu 1000 Knock,” “Minami-kun Is My Lover!?,” “Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days,” and “Stellar Neighbor.”
The role of Sakura Miyashita, a judicial apprentice aiming to become a lawyer who ends up tossing Haruto around, will be played by Kyoko Saito, formerly of Hinatazaka46, who has taken leading roles in dramas such as “How to Drown in the Ocean” and “Sudden Marriage,” and is active across variety shows, dramas, and more.

The film will be directed by Yuka Yasukawa, whose works include the film “Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight,” the dramas “Jack Frost,” “If You Wish to Fall in Love, Make It Two Times Better,” and “Love Battle Royale,” as well as the upcoming film “A Girl & Her Guard Dog.” The screenplay will be written by Yosuke Masaike, who won the 46th Japan Academy Prize for Outstanding Screenplay for the film “Anime Supremacy!” and has worked on numerous screen productions, including the currently airing Thursday drama “Japan’s No.1 Worst Man” (CX) and the film “A Girl & Her Guard Dog.” （https://www.mbs.jp/suspicious_partner/）
