Akane Nakano (Mao Ioki) is a gifted high school student who has been accepted to Seiran Academy, a prestigious preparatory school with the highest university advancement rate in Japan and, for the first time since its founding, admitted a student with perfect scores in every subject on the entrance exam, along with an偏差値 of 78. Because of her exceptional abilities, the school has high expectations for her, but Akane herself is indifferent, finding the world boring and unable to see the meaning of life.
Then, on the morning of the entrance ceremony, the body of a woman with her left arm severed is discovered in a park near the school. A crowd gathers, and Akane is drawn to the scene as well. There, among the onlookers, she notices a man with a cold gaze named Yuu Kurokawa (Ryuta Yamamura), and for some reason, she can’t help but be intrigued by him.
Meanwhile, Akane had taken the entrance exam for Seiran Academy, the toughest school in Japan, hoping there might be at least a few interesting classmates there. But the students who gathered in her class are all the type to flaunt their impressive achievements and look down on society and adults, including Shin Eto (Kouhei Higuchi), a three-time champion of the national junior high school quiz competition, and Hiroto Miyauchi (Eiku Yamashita), a mathematics Olympiad winner. As Akane grows fed up with their dull conversations and is about to leave, she spots a man speaking with a school staff member on campus. It is Kurokawa, the same man she saw at the murder scene, and intrigued, Akane goes to visit the electrical shop where Kurokawa works...
