This is the first installment in the short anime series “What Kind of Home?” featured on TV Tokyo’s “Shinapushu.” Inspired by the Japanese concept of “yaoyorozu no kami” — the idea that countless deities dwell in all things — this work was created around the theme of turning our attention to the small lives and subtle presences that reside in nature. With the hope that children can freely expand their imagination in nature, we aimed for a simple, gentle style of expression by stripping away as many elements as possible. In addition, we focused on a minimal character design with infants’ visual perception in mind, along with movements that feel lovable and endearing.

This is the second installment of “What Kind of Home?” With the Japanese concept of the “eight million gods” as a hidden theme, this series portrays a world in which even the smallest presences in nature may be alive with spirit and signs of life. As an animation for babies, it features a minimal, highly legible character design without over-detailed drawing, and places great importance on gentle, endearing movement.
