I am a thief. Throughout all time, there have been many kinds of thieves, but I am a little different from them. I don’t steal money. I have absolutely no interest in antiques, jewels, or other valuable works of art. I am a thief who steals sound. "Haru o hisagu" is a slang term for prostitution. Here, it functions as a metaphor for "music as a business." Don’t you think that’s sad? It’s even more foolish than real prostitution. We shave away our pride to make a living, choose themes that cater to the masses, and search for pop melodies. We create works that are neatly worded and easy to understand. In this way, we sell ourselves—ourselves as expressed through the form of music—to you at a bargain price. I call that "haru hisagi."

Music video for “Nettaiya,” a song written, composed, and performed by Kei Sugawara.

A story about children discovering the "sound" outside the window and chasing after it.

The music video for “Geki Yaba ∞ Boocan!!,” the first anime tie-in song by the DearStage-affiliated idol group Dempagumi.inc, which began at a maid café in Akihabara. Inspired by the lyrics evoking destruction and by Dempagumi’s emotional state, the concept of a “super special move” was launched. I&S BBDO’s Go Nagasaki handled the concept (along with the finer fighting-game references), while Toshitaka Shinoda directed the visuals (live-action segments and emotional tone) and Ohashi (CG, animation, and fighting-game references) was in charge of the rest. To convey the image of them carrying the culture as an idol group rooted in Akiba, the fighting-game aesthetic was expressed not as traditional pixel art, but through modern-looking 3DCG, crisp graphics, and CG-rendered images of destruction, highlighting their distinctive presence as more than just cute.
