This piece features “Kei,” who calls himself a Poké Card doctor, carefully explaining the series of rules for the Pokémon Card Game to a boy named “Ren,” who has just obtained Pokémon cards, and is structured so that the new rules are explained to viewers as well. While following the structure and animation style of the previous explanation series, we were mindful of pacing and subtle character animation, deliberately avoiding excessive expression, effects, and animation so that viewers could stay engaged until the end while understanding the rules. Also, on a more detailed directorial note, this time voice actors Chisaki Kimura and Sako Ogawa added nuanced emotions at key moments, and I feel this resulted in an explanatory video that also lets viewers appreciate the delicate vocal performances they bring to the work.

Viewing URL: https://gyohan-p.com/ When discussing the project, the client told us, “We’re changing the name of Gyohan T-Shirt Print.com, so we want to change the logo and use a pop-style video expression to help customers recognize it as a more approachable service.” In response, we consulted with the designer and created a 30-second video that focused on how clearly and playfully we could introduce T-Order, Gyohan T-Shirt Print’s proprietary service, by touching on its key points in a way that was easy to understand. It was actually exhibited at a trade show. It is now featured on the service’s website. We started by talking with the client about how to give the video the strongest possible hook as an advertisement, and focused on creating cuts that would make visitors at the trade show stop and think, “Oh!” at a glance. We then proposed a structure that explains the three main strengths they wanted to promote through animation. We used design and animation to express how easy it is to submit artwork with the T-Order system. On the day of the trade show, because it was displayed on a large monitor, we received feedback that many customers stopped to watch it.

2022 VCT Stage2 – Challengers JAPAN Playoff Finals Main Title

We produced the opening video used for the 2022 VALORANT Champions Tour Challengers Japan Stage 2 – Playoff Finals, the official tournament for the tactical FPS game VALORANT, held at Saitama Super Arena. With Japanese teams achieving success on the world stage and the first offline tournament with a live audience being held, we aimed to create a work that evokes the “dawn” of Japan’s esports scene. In addition, drawing from “time,” an important element within VALORANT, we built anticipation for the start of the event with a countdown timer modeled after the in-game UI. By using footage and audio from past tournaments in chronological order, the piece suggests that time is gradually moving toward the present. As for the sound design, because this was a shooting game filled with intense exchanges and a large-scale offline tournament realized after overcoming the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic, we placed greater emphasis than usual on aggressive sounds. Since this was the deciding match to determine Japan’s representative team, we incorporated chords that evoke a sense of Japanese harmony, as well as sounds sampled from instruments of gagaku, traditional Japanese court music.
