2023, the summer, three years after the pandemic.
Japanese fireworks have returned.
What had once been nothing more than a seasonal summer tradition
could no longer be separated from its original meanings of “mourning” and “warding off evil,”
and this work was created to preserve that sense of sentiment.
By depicting it fleetingly from a child’s perspective,
it carries INORI from multiple viewpoints.
